For most people, stars are just beautiful lights in the sky, but for experienced sailors, they are a map. It’s the same with culture. We all have an instinctive sense of what surrounds us, we are part of the culture that surrounds us. Through intercultural training we can read – and thus better understand – the star maps of other cultures. Just as sailors navigate by the stars, our new knowledge helps us to navigate faster and better in the worlds of foreign cultures. You can practise these skills in our Cross-Cultural Competence (CCC) modular training courses. The courses are also available online.

Basic level Cross-Cultural Competence module: Compass

Cultures are very different, but they also have a lot in common.
